Chief Minister Dr Y S Rajasekhara Reddy’s statement on Telugu Mahila president Roja has triggered panic reactions in the Telugu Desam Party.
TDP president N Chandrababu Naidu described it as an attempt by YSR to create confusion in the rival political parties. “It is unbecoming on the part of a top leader like YSR to resort to such cheap gimmicks,” he said.
The TDP leaders summoned Roja to the party office and made her speak to the media to condemn YSR’s statement. And she spoke rather diplomatically. “YSR is speaking lies. I never had any intention of quitting the TDP, which has given me so much respect and honour. I don’t know why YSR made that statement. It is a drama to create sensation in politics,” she said.
