It is a worried Chandrababu who will be commencing the tour of Northern Andhra districts. For long, this part of A P has been considered a fortress of the TDP. Ever since the TDP emerged in 1983, the Northern Andhra electorate has cast their lot and vote with the cycle. But in the 2004 polls, TDP was swept aside in an anti-incumbency wave that Dr YSR Reddy of the congress smartly capitalized on. Now the TDP has to deal with another challenge in the form of Chiranjeevi’s PRP. The crowd's response to the Megastar’s tour of Northern Andhra (which boasts a large section of Kapu population) is worrying the TDP no end. It is no small wonder that Chandrababu’s visit to the constituencies is seen as an exercise to reclaim the party’s citadel. Matinee idol Balakrishna will follow Chandrababu after the former finishes his tour. The TDP think tank has given Balayya the same route that the Megastar took in his campaign.
