Drawing an erroneous parallel between an individual and an institution, Chiranjeevi claimed that the PRP enjoyed more clout with the people than the legendary NTR ever did. Chiranjeevi backed up his claim by stating that “NTR set up party committees only after he came to power. We have done it before the elections. Leaders in our party are vying with each other for party posts as they are enthusiastic to serve the people. It indicates that PR has more clout among the people.” This baffling logic does not explain how want of power can be termed as “clout” among people. The PRP chief in his press conference did not have any answers as to how the “social justice” theme would be implemented. The TDP leaders on their part refused to be drawn into any remark on Chiranjeevi’s comment as they did not want to give any legitimacy to what they felt was an immature remark by an inexperienced politician.
