One of Satyam’s biggest clients, the US-based health insurer Cigna Corp, has put the company on a three-month “notice’’. A senior Satyam manager has said that “we are alternating between hope and hopelessness in recent days. This news comes as a shock,’’ a senior Satyam manager said. A Satyam senior manager working with the Cigna account, clarified saying that “Cigna wants to know our Plan B.’’ Cigna has over 120 associates working from Satyam’s offices in Bahadurpally and Madhapur. Satyam is however hopeful of retaining Cigna. A staffer inside the account said that “terminating a project cannot be done overnight as customers do not wish to break continuity.’’ But analysts here have said Satyam's main advantage lies in its USD 11/hr pricing that it has given to Cigna. They contend that a TCS or Infosys would not want to do business at that pricing.
