Swetha Reddy studying in Degree Final year was found dead lying in a pool of blood in her bedroom. According to reports emerging, the death might have occurred in mid or late afternoon today. The police suspect that her boyfriend must have committed this heinous crime. There was a huge commotion near Pragathi Degree College as the police attempted to whisk the body away. Angry members from the public and the college staged a dharna and prevented the police from taking the body away till her parents arrive from Mehboob Nagar. They are demanding that the police should act in a transparent manner and produce the suspects. They fear that the police will dilute the case due to political pressure. The police though have assured that that they are on top of things and will soon apprehend the subject. Swetha Reddy’s death is another black mark on an the state’s worsening track record on women’s rights and safety.
