Notwithstanding the multi-crore fraud, Satyam will keep its commitment to FIFA as the IT service providers for the 2010 World Cup soccer in South Africa and also for the 2014 edition in Brazil.
In an exclusive chat with The Hindu, Dr. M. V. Sridhar, Head, Sports Marketing (Satyam), said that there was definitely some concernin FIFA in the wake of the fraud but “we kept them informed everyday of the actual position and in a way tried to make them understand the sincerity of Satyam to be associated with the World Cup. We explained to them how the new management is in charge of the group and also that a new CEO and the CFO were to be appointed soon. There were never any deadlines from the FIFA in this regard. In fact they have been very supportive. FIFA continues to be our esteemed customer,” Sridhar claimed .
