A.P’s CID department strongly believes that the interim CEO of Satyam, Ram Mynampati knows a lot more than he has accepted in the Rs. 7000 crore scam. Now, it wants Mynampati to come to Hyderabad and answer questions. But that could be as difficult as task as the cops could ever hope to have, because Ram Mynampati and his entire family are US citizens. Ram Mynampati works out of his office and home in New Jersey. Nonetheless the cops are trying. “Yes, we have established contact with him but he is not convinced about the need for him to come. We have told him that he is needed to ‘clarify doubts’,” a senior CID cop told a leading English daily. “We suspect he played an active role in the execution of the fraud and was part of the core team involved in the exercise,” the CID official said. “We now know how exactly the documents were fudged, the process by which this was done and the participants,” the cop added. Ram Mynampati is still looking after the Commercial and Health Care business segment in Satyam and is keenly interacting with key clients in the US, Europe and Latin America.
